KarEn NewComer

Karen Newcomer is the founder and one of the principals of Pecos Consulting LLC. 

Karen works with teams, large and small, to ignite their passion and rekindle their desire to make a difference at the company.  In addition, Karen serves as a keynote speaker at national conferences and offsite meetings for client groups.  She has extensive experience in interactive learning and experiential training. 

Prior to founding Pecos Consulting, she held managing positions in sales and marketing at The American Express Company, The Carlson Companies, Jostens and was one of the original founders for The Gift Certificate Center, now owned by Hallmark.

Karen holds an undergraduate degree psychology degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and an MBA, from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.

Susan nowlin

Susan Nowlin, principal at Pecos Consulting, works with business owners, key executives, and managers, consulting on leadership issues, team effectiveness and as an executive coach.  She works with large and small organizations in the for-profit, not-for-profit and higher education sectors.  She is a Master Certified Leadership Coach and has extensive training in using assessment tools including the Bar-On Emotional Intelligence (EQ-I) Assessment and the Mobius Team Effectiveness Instrument. Susan has a deep understanding of how psychological, organizational, and business dynamics influence individuals and teams. Her significant experience in the corporate and non-profit world coupled with her remarkable insights and perceptive skills offers a unique blend to help individuals focus on the mind sets and key behaviors which will most impact their leadership abilities and the results of their organization. 

Prior to joining Pecos, Susan spent 23 years of in the performance improvement industry.  During this time, she served as a sales management executive in two of the leading performance improvement/relationship marketing firms in the country.  

Susan has a BA degree in Science from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. 

Suz Grimes

For over 30 years, Suz Grimes has been involved in executive development, executive search, executive coaching, team effectiveness, leadership development and succession planning.  She has served a diverse range of clients; from corporations to not-for-profits to family run businesses.

Suz has been partnering with Pecos for over 10 years, bringing a deep understanding of what motivates and drives people, and the impact this motivation has on communication, relationships and leadership. Suz is a certified MCore ® associate, and she uses her training to help people identify and assess their motivational strengths. Suz is passionate about optimizing individual, team, and organizational effectiveness and with over 25 years of experience in the industry, she provides consulting in leadership development and succession planning.Prior to partnering with Pecos, Suz worked in the corporate sector designing and facilitating executive training and development programs.

Suz has BA degree in Psychology and Religion from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and a MA in Human Resource Development with a certificate in Organization Development from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
